With the northern end of the line closed for engineering work for a month in early 2010, the line ran a series of special events to recreate timetables from the past 50 years. The first weekend was a recreation of 1963 timetable, a time when trains were top 'n' tailed by two small tank locomotives.
Fresh from overhaul was P Class 178 running as 'Pioneer II', which top 'n' tailed services with Terrier Fenchurch on the Mets. To top off the feel of 1963, as electric services ran to Horsted until October of that year, 4COR 3142 driving motor was on display in platform 2 at Horsted Keynes. |
