The Middleton Railway's 2016 Gala, was billed as a Victorian Gala, featuring four Victorian locomotives staring. The event saw Bellerophon visiting (normally based at Foxfield, whom were also holding a gala over the same weekend). This joined home based Sir Berkeley and Ingrow West based Lord Major, the two other locomotives owned by the Vintage Carriages Trust. This gave the group and the line the chance to line up the Trust's locomotives for what is believed to be the first time.
I visited on the Friday, which was really a preview day, with Bellerophon booked to haul 4 mixed goods trains (with passengers carried in the brake van which included seated indoor accommodation, for those not wanting to stand on the veranda). She only completed 2 trips, being replaced the final journeys by a diesel shunter of Brush design (built by Beyer Peacock) No.91 taking a British Railways guise as D2999.
Even with the failure the locomotive still took place in the planned line up in the evening.
