Recreating 92220 Evening Star
92214 was purchased for use at the Great Central Railway during January 2014. Later in the year she was repainted into BR Lined Brunswick Green. The only member of the class to carry this livery previously was the final 9F, the last steam locomotive built for British Railways, 92220 Evening Star. While Evening Star remains at York on display in the Great Hall, unlikely to steam in the foreseeable future, this became the perfect opportunity to recreate Evening Star for a series of special events and photo charters during 2015 and early 2016. The GCR's Winter Steam Gala 2016 and subsequent photo charters where the last occasion the NRM granted permission for the recreation.
